The Jesuit Conspiracy To Cancel The Gospel Of John

I’m back on the wonderful show The Anarchist Bible Study with Josh aka Iowancap. We discuss an article from Father Jim McDermott on how the Gospel of John shouldn’t be read on Good Friday because people beat up Jewish people – or something? Hence the Jesuit conspiracy to cancel the Gospel of John!

You can find the article here – The Gospel of John has been used to justify anti-Semitism—so we should stop reading it on Good Friday | America Magazine.

As we know, the best thing to do when people have an incorrect understanding of Scripture – especially if it leads to violent actions – is to just ignore it. Of course, this is not the proper response and the article itself is internally inconsistent. We cover both aspects. And we do what the article failed to do – answer the question on who actually killed Jesus – and why that’s important.
Then in the second part of this episode, Josh helps me understand the term “means of grace” from a Reformed perspective and also I help out in reviewing Chapters 2 and 3 of David Roome’s book “Uriel’s Revenge“. That timestamp section can be found here.
