Moses Dow – Fasting For An Evil Day
Every time I am blessed by doing a sermon for Troy and Joel of Revived Thoughts I always say this is my favorite one I’ve done. I think I just really like their format and am growing in my love for God and how He has moved in His Church and in history.
I really liked this one because this is a plea and rebuking of a nation because of its collective sin the coming judgment. In the days of 9/11, we probably remember a lot of pro-nation, patriotic sermons but we failed to see the judgment in not being righteous especially as righteous as we wanted to believe we were. Moses Dow does not falter here and hopefully, I was able to bring out the passion for revival that I read in his sermon. This is a sermon needed for today.
From the episode description:
“Moses Dow preached this sermon in the War of 1812 in the United States of America. At the onset of the war, America declared a day of fasting for the evil that was occurring in their land.”
